Call for applications: Assistant Professor position at University of Toronto Mississauga

The University of Toronto Mississauga, Department of Psychology, invites applications for a tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Animal Behavioural Neuroscience from scholars with research interests in social neuroscience

 

Applications for a tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Animal Behavioural Neuroscience at the University of Toronto Mississauga, Department of Psychology, are encouraged from scholars with research interests in social neuroscience that compliment current areas of strength in the department (sexual differentiation, behavioural neuroendocrinology, and behaviour genetics).  The successful applicant will join a research cluster committed to the study of animal neurogenetic and behavioural research.  Facilities include a large, small-mammal vivarium, including mouse facilities, behavioural testing rooms, surgical, histological, molecular, and microscopy labs, excellent outdoor “fields,” and within our Centre for Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology, we have state of the art facilities in confocal microscopy, qRT pcr, DNA sequencing, and NMR.

The position will begin July 1, 2010. Candidates should have received their Ph.D. by the starting date, and should show evidence of demonstrated excellence in teaching and research. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded program of research and to contribute to the education and training of undergraduate and graduate students. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
